Great MIJ tyre

2 Aug 2011 5:23PM

Duration of product used: 1 year

Car Setup:
KIA CERATO FORTE 215/45/17

Similar Products Tried:
NEXEN CP661A, UNIROYAL

Strengths:
Good traction grip for both wet and dry, comfort High performance tyre

 Weaknesses:
Quite noisy when travelling hi speed

The Review:
This set of Dunlop tyre has really good grip as my ride almost "kissed" the front car when it E-brake suddenly. As compared to the Uniroyal that have a much inferior grip that my ride have a small "kiss" in a same situation.

During heavy down pour the road is having side road floading, this set of tyre will seems to "brake" steady through the water which i believe it is dispersing the water which it is know as good aquaplaning grip.

Overall it is a relatively good tyre but it seems that the pattern is similar to yoko "S drive" and falken ZE912, and Hankook

Duration of product used: 2 years

Car Setup:
used it on my previous cs3

Similar Products Tried:
toyo t1r, hankook k104

Strengths:
price is ok compared to other MIJ tyres
reliable performance
comes with rim protector

 Weaknesses:
a constant drone at around 60-70 kph....
kinda of a dated design and technology...

The Review:
after collecting the car, i put on a set of lowering springs, 17-inch wheels and 215/40-17 dunlop dz101 tyres.....

as far as i can remember, the tyres' performance limit was beyond the car's & driver's combined.... tough to force it to lose traction on a 105 hp 1.6 litre car...

dry grip was reliable and consistent....
feedback was available readily, one can easily tell how the tyre was performing....
wet drip was adequate and assuring..... even while pushing in the corners...

reasonable price for a MIJ tyre...

Bargain buy for HP tyres

3 Aug 2010 2:14PM

Duration of product used: Less than 1 month

Car Setup:
Suzuki SX4 HB

Similar Products Tried:
Bridgestone Turanza ER300

Strengths:
Short braking distance
Good dry/wet grip when travelling up to 120km/hr

 Weaknesses:
Floating sensation when travelling at 140km/hr
Noisy during high speed travel
Poorer mileage due to wider tyres

The Review:
I got this set of 225/45/17 tyres at a relative cheap deal. Grips the road very well (Up to 120km/hr), be it dry or wet cornering or cruising on a straight road. But when travelling at around 140km/hr, I had a floating sensation as the steering wheel feel "loosed". Once reduce speed to around 120km/hr, the grip came back.

Ultimately, these tyres are still a bargain buy and good enough for Singapore roads.
