I'm using it and it is reasonable for price and effectiveness. I'm quite against revving hard so this is okay for my use.

The Review:
It feels absolutely great.....for the first 1000km or so. The engine really sings and you can feel it in the throttle response and pickup. It is best combined with the engine oil treatment.

After 1k, it flatlines on performance. The engine seems to settle down back down to its usual noise and performance level. At this stage, you should avoid red lining or extensive hard driving because the engine will start to sip engine oil.

Oil change is definitely recommended at 5k. Do keep an eye on the dipstick or screen for oil level marking because if you drive hard, this oil disappears in a jiffy.

For something that isn't marketed as a performance product, it is quite decent for use in a family sedan.

Value for money

The Review:
Still revving smoothly and is value for money.

Heard it degrades fast but I suppose that is acceptable since it is not very expensive.

Strengths:
Smooth Ride for the first 5k

 Weaknesses:
After 5k respond not very good

The Review:
Used Carlube in my last servicing. For the 1st 5k after servicing, damn shiok, smooth ride, good rev. After that everything seems to die down. But is value for money, but not for the performance seeker. Does not seem to help on fuel consumption as well. Best to let the foot go light on the accelerator instead.

The Review:
Had been using the Carlube 5W40 since it's hitted the shell of hypermart. Especially when it's on offer.

The oil is smooth and usually I will changed every 5000 km or more interval.

So far can last me for my previous long trip up Penang in 2007.

Cost effective full synthetic oil

The Review:
Been using this after seeing reviews on other car forums. The fact is most of us drive passenger cars that are not high performance vehicles.

We can spend on expensive engine oil but there is no point in overspending when we are under utilizing those expensive products.

Carlube engine oil is very affordable at about $28 for 5 litres. It performs very well for a budget product and I can only say this should be the most value for money product around.

Triple R 5w40

27 Oct 2008 5:37AM

Duration of product used: 3 months

Strengths:
Cheapness
5 Litre Bottle
can be use for flushing or engine

 Weaknesses:
Viscosity Breaks down too fast

The Review:
I've been using carlube Triple R for a year after i stop using mineral.

used for 3 servicing using carlube triple R 5w40.

It was recommended by follow forumers in another forum due to it's great pricing and of cos it's size, where one bottle is enough as compared to other brands where you'll still need to buy another litre just to make up for the short fall..

My car feels good after every servicing but after driving for 3k km or so, you could feel the car getting sluggish and also the noise coming from the engine getting louder.

But with such cheap oil in the market will only help to keep your engine cleaner since one will be changing it pretty often. I've used it and changed it every 5k km.

no problem whatsoever.. great value for street driving.
